Amanda is a senior double major in Creative Writing and Religion from Gahanna, Ohio. This will be Amanda's third year with ReCap, and her second year as editor-in-chief. She is also vice president of Colleges Against Cancer and has worked at Gramercy Books for two years. Amanda was a Summer Scholar at Capital in 2017 and has presented papers at conferences for the Society of Biblical Literature and the midwest chapter of the American Academy of Religion.
Kaitie Eddy is a senior, and this is her third year on ReCap. She is from a small town just off the coast of Lake Erie called Castalia. Kaitie is a dual major in creative and professional writing, with a minor in screenwriting. She has had two internships, one as a reporter, the other in marketing and communications, both of which she has created published content for. Kaitie is also the vice president of the creative writing club
Mil Mijatovic is a Senior Creative Writing and English lit major who primarily writes poetry. She is incredibly proud to be a Serbian immigrant, and she works on translating Serbian works to English and vice versa. She travels constantly, and she studied in England this past school year. Mil is currently a copywriting intern for both Buckeye Interactive and the Columbus Historical Society. She's currently working on her senior Capstone in which she examines one of her favorite authors, Jack Kerouac and this past summer was a Capital University Summer Scholar. You can catch Mil at the next cool concert in town because she believes there's nothing better or more inspiring than rocking out.
Katie Bachelder is a senior Creative Writing major and a second year Recap staff member. She recently finished her first fantasy novel manuscript, with intent to publish it soon. Katie also writes a bimonthly blog through her author website. Her cat's name is Lucky.
Rachel is a senior Studio Art major with minors in Marketing, Digital Design, and Art History. This will be Rachel's second year as at art editor for ReCap. She is from North Canton, Ohio. Rachel is a member of Phi Sigma Sigma, Kappa Pi, and works at Gramercy Books.
Nicky Gutierrez is a second year at Capital University and this is his second year on Recap staff. His majors are Creative Writing and Religion. He is from Akron, Ohio specifically Bath township. He was an orientation leader at Capital. He was an intern at Mentor United Methodist Church over the summer and has written and given a few sermons. He is also the current president of the Creative Writing Club and Anime Club at Capital and is part of way too many clubs/extracurriculars. He also loves Haikus!
Addie Becker is a junior who is currently undeclared, but leaning towards English professional writing and literature. She is from Cortland, Ohio. She plays basketball at Capital and is a member of SAAC. She is also an intern at the Ohio Attorney General's Office. This is Addie's second year on ReCap.
Dakota McLane is a sophomore from Mt. Victory, Ohio and after being published in the 2018 issue of Recap has decided to join our staff! Dakota is a creative writing major who writes mostly prose and will be a prose editor for Recap this year.
Carly Briggs is from Lima, Ohio and is in her third year at Capital, but this is her first year on Recap! Carly is a double major in English literature and spanish with a minor in French who loves linguistics. Aside from Recap she is involved with Colleges Against Cancer and Pi Phi Epsilon. When Carly was in high school she had a poem published in the America LIbrary of Poetry.
Hannah Arnold is a first year student and a first year prose editor for Recap. Hannah is from Ashville, Ohio and enjoys writing horror novellas and reading Clive Barker.
Ella Brickman is a freshman double-major in English Literature and Creative Writing and is also planning on minoring in Spanish. She is from Chardon, Ohio (about 40 minutes from Cleveland.) This is her first year on Recap, and she is also involved in Embrace, Cru, the Catholic Student Organization, and the Creative Writing Club. When she’s not running around campus, Ella is usually binge-watching telenovelas on Netflix or trying to find time to read a book.
Kayden Hauke is a first year both here at Capital University and on our team at Recap, majoring as a Bachelor of Music in Music Technology. He is from Cincinnati, Ohio, where one of his artworks was presented in the 10x10 Teen Expo at the Cincinnati Art Museum in 2018, which he is very proud of and he will be an art editor for Recap this year. Though he’s been a trumpet player for seven years and has been in various honor bands, he also ran the sound at his school’s musical, Footloose, last year, helping him realize his passion for live sound. Though he’s busy as a result of this, he still finds time to create art and write a little on the side, making short stories and pieces that appeal to emotion.
Brogan Ward is a senior from Jackson, Ohio who is in his first year on Recap. Brogan is a double major in history and creative writing with a minor in literature. In addition to Recap, he is a member of creative writing club and is also working on and researching for a documentary called Capital in the 60’s.
Savannah is a first year English and Theatre major from Hilliard, Ohio. She is involved with Capital's Creative Writing Club and PATSO organization. She likes to read and write fiction in her free time, whenever she's not playing with any and all dogs she comes across, and could talk about musicals all day.
Tristam Cheeseman is in his first year at capital and his first year on staff with recap. He is a theatre major and history minor from Lima, Ohio. He once wrote an entire 40-page play in his freshman year. Otherwise, he is running for political office (State Representative of District 4 to the Ohio General Assembly), he writes a lot, and plays video games. He also enjoys reading about history.
