Submission Guidelines:
We accept original submissions of prose, poetry, and visual art (including photography)!
- Prose must be 16 pages or fewer.
- You may submit pieces to one or more categories.
- We are only accepting original work from current Capital University Students.

- Prose (1)
- Poetry (4)
- Visual Art (4)
By submitting to ReCap, you understand that if your work is accepted for publication, you consent to the following:
- ReCap has international serial rights to publish your work in the print journal, electronically on the ReCap website, and on social media.
- Upon publication, rights revert to the author. However, ReCap reserves the right to reuse work that has appeared in the journal, with proper citation, in any future print or electronic collections, compendiums, anthologies, social media platforms, etc.
- If the author wishes to later republish the work, ReCap requests the courtesy of acknowledging first publication in our journal.
- ReCap reserves the right to make minor mechanical and grammatical edits as necessary for any accepted piece.
To Submit:
- Click the "SUBMIT!" button at the bottom of this page.
- Upload your work in individual documents in the category based on your submission type (poetry, prose, or artwork). Make sure to read the submission guidelines for each category you submit to!
- Create a username through Submittable or sign-in with Facebook (This membership will not spam your email inbox and is an easy way to keep track of pending submissions to ReCap as well as other literary magazines that use this submission manager).
- Make sure your work is titled. In the cover letter, please specify your name and university or city affiliation.
- Remove your name from the document. We use a blind reading process. Only include your name when Submittable asks for it.
